#1 Yes, the settlement will lead to $1.7 Billion in private student loan debt forgiveness and $95
million in small restitution payments for “some” borrowers.

#2 The Navient settlement does not cancel loans for federal borrowers. So, it is likely that you
will have to PAY in May because the interest and the payments on federal student loans are still
frozen until May.
#3 The settlement funds will primarily be going to borrowers with low credit scores who took
out private subprime student loans between 2002 – 2014!
#4 It’s Only $260…those that qualify for restitution will receive $260 in exchange for being
financially abused by way of being placed in the long-term
#5 If you Qualify, they will call you! Well, they aren’t going to Call you. You will receive a
postcard in the mail.
